hp is offering free online classes. i'm taking one for microsoft excel. they also offer classes for digital photography, powerpoint, web site basics, security solutions and others.Each HP online class uses a combination of the following components to help you learn about a topic:
* Lessons: a collection of pages that discuss the class topic. Each class is 2 to 8 lessons long, depending on the topic.
* Assignments: optional exercises that help you apply the concepts discussed in the lessons.
* Quizzes: optional short test to help you check your understanding of the material that you just covered in the lesson.
* Message Board: the class discussion forum where you interact with fellow students and your instructor.
at the end they give you some kind of certificate you can print out. might be useful, i figure it may give me a little something to add to that "other skills" section you see on job applications.
